Chapter Accomplishments The Irvine, California Chapter of IAQA was formed in 2006. The chapter previously held half-day workshops representing the American IAQ Council (AmIAQ), the Indoor Environmental Standards Organization (IESO), and the International Association of Mold Management (IAMM) since 2001. A typical workshop is half day in length and attract between 35 and 150 participants. Workshop speakers have included industry experts speaking on subjects like Microbial Assessment, HVAC System Cleaning, Measuring for Moisture, Survey Analysis, Inspection & Investigating Properties, Identifying Suspect Conditions, Legal Coverage, Insurance, Certifications, Other Indoor Hazards, Understanding of Lab Data and other technical topics. As IESO the Orange County Chapter held full day educational Symposiums in 2004 and 2005 offering exhibitor displays and seminars to industry professionals and other related industries from top industry speakers. As IESO we co-sponsored “Moisture Intrusion Field Training” with CREIA (California Real Estate Inspection Association) on July 23, 2005. The class was held at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA, with the largest construction technology department west of the Mississippi. Some of the topics included were Forensic Tile and Moisture Intrusion Field Training. We were able to set up staged water loss in structures on campus tracking water with meters and IR equipment. As IAQA & IESO our Southern California Chapter promoted membership and industry standards at CREIA, NAHI, ITA and numerous expositions and conferences within related industries. As IAQA & IESO our Southern California Chapter Exhibited at the California Association of Realtors (CAR) at their Long Beach 2006 EXPO and in San Diego at their “100 year Anniversary EXPO” in 2007 to promote our industry standards and the industry professional into the California Real Estate market for the first time. As IAQA our Irvine Chapter held it’s “4th Annual West Coast IAQA Symposium” on November 10,2007 featuring a full day of educational seminars with exhibitor displays. The annual symposium continues to supply our industry professionals with educational studies and topics from top industry speakers.
